Compliance

Principal 1 Electrical operates under Electrical Contractor Licence EC79666, servicing Maroochydore and the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. All electrical work is carried out by, or directly supervised by, licensed electricians in accordance with the Electrical Safety Act 2002 (Qld) and Queensland's electrical licensing scheme, administered by the Electrical Safety Office and the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC).

All installations and repairs are carried out in accordance with AS/NZS 3000:2018 (the Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules), the primary standard governing electrical installations in Australia, along with any relevant Australian Standards for specific work types (e.g. AS/NZS 3012 for construction sites, AS/NZS 3017 for verification testing).

Where required by law, we issue a Certificate of Testing and Compliance for completed work, confirming it meets the applicable wiring rules and safety standards. Copies of certificates are provided to the customer and, where required, lodged with the Electrical Safety Office (Queensland).

As part of our safety inspections, we check compliance with residual current device (safety switch) requirements for Queensland homes, and can advise on any upgrades needed.

We also install and service interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms in line with Queensland's smoke alarm legislation under the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990 (Qld), which sets out requirements for smoke alarms in Queensland homes.

Principal 1 Electrical holds public liability insurance, giving you peace of mind that you are covered in the unlikely event of property damage or injury arising from our work.
